How Giving to God Should Be Done Correctly
Giving to God should be done in the right way. There are many people who don’t know how to give to God, they give to God with the wrong conception. Some people give to please man and not God. Some people give for example their money to wrong places and think they are giving it to God. When you give to the wrong places, and also to the right places but with the wrong conception, it will be difficult for you to experience the manifestation of the blessings of God from your giving. This article will describe five ways on how to give to God and how giving to God should be done correctly.
5 Ways on How to Give to God and How Giving to God Should Be Done Correctly
Giving to Widows, Orphans, Fatherless and Strangers is Giving to God
One of the ways to give to God is by giving to the orphans, fatherless, strangers and the widows. De 14:29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest. The above scripture talks about giving to the Levite because they had no inheritance, strangers, fatherless and widows and God will bless the work of your hand. There is always a reward from God when you give to this group of people. De 26.12 also talks about giving to the fatherless, widows and strangers in relation to giving to God. Giving to the orphans, fatherless, widows and strangers is a special kind of giving to God which will prosper you in all your works.
Giving to The Sick, Hungry, Strangers, Naked and Prisoners is Giving to God
When you visit the sick in the hospital, cloth the naked, feed the hungry, give shelter to strangers, and visit the prisons you are doing it for God. Giving to those in the Hospital for example by helping them in paying their bills and taking care of them you are doing it for God. Giving food, money and helping out those who are in the prisons you are giving it to God. Jesus said Mt 25:43 ” I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not“. Here Jesus is talking about clothing the naked, feeding the hungry, taking care of the sick, those in prison and the strangers. He is saying if you give to these group of people or taking care of them, you are doing it to Him Jesus. This is the same as giving to God. If you fail to take care of this classes of people or reject them then you have been rejecting Jesus as well.
When you read further in Mt 25:44 you will notice that the disciples asked when was Jesus hungry, naked, sick, a stranger, and in prison and they did not minister (minister here means to attend to the wants and needs of others) to Him. In Mt 25:45 Jesus told His disciples that truly whatever you did not do for one of the least of these (the hungry, sick, strangers, prisoners, the naked, homeless) you did not do for me“.‘ When giving to God by taking care of these group of people, do it with a humble heart, don’t do it with pride, do it with the love of God in your heart. If you do it with pride in your heart and boastfully, God will not reward you because you have rewarded yourself with pride already.
Giving to The Poor and Needy is Giving to God
Another way that giving to God should be done is by giving to the poor and needy. Poor people are people who have little or no possession, and are helpless. The needy are those who are demanding or needing attention, affection, or reassurance to an excessive degree. The book of Proverbs 19:17 (NIV) says “whoever is kind to the poor lends to the lord, and he (the Lord) will reward them for what they have done“. This is evidence that when you show kindness to the poor, giving to the poor, you are giving to God. God will always repay you because God considers that you are lending to Him, and He is Good enough to repay you with interest and more. Remember that every time you help or give to the poor or to some one in need you are giving to God. God will prosper you because you give to the poor which is giving to God.
Spreading the Gospels of Jesus Christ is Giving to God
One of the reasons why we are alive today is because we need to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. We were born to spread the good news. Spending money and time in evangelism is giving to God. Every year, give money, time, or take care of those who are evangelising and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ because, the instruction Jesus gave to his disciples in Mark 16:15 was that they should spread the gospel all over the world until His return. Today, we have that same obligation to do it directly or indirectly in getting involved in the spread of the gospel. The concept of Christianity beliefs cannot not be complete without the spread of the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Supporting the Church is Giving to God
Giving offering in church and online giving for churches all consist of giving to God. The church consists of a physical building where people come and have fellowship with God, and other people. The church needs to be supported financially and materially to meet up with the day-to-day activities of the church. This assembly has its needs, such as paying church bills, providing church materials and instruments, maintaining the building of the church, supporting pastors and priests as shepherds of the church. It is also a good thing to support prophets, teachers, Evangelist, apostles, bishops, elders, leaders, and deacon with freewill offering. Giving to the church should be done cheerfully and not under pressure because God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:6-11).
Giving to God is an act of faith just as healing is an act of faith. Giving to the widows, orphans, fatherless and strangers is giving to God which the reward is God will bless the works of your hand which will enable you to prosper. Taking care of the sick, hungry, strangers, naked and prisoners is giving to God because Jesus said if you give to them you have given to me. Helping the poor and needy is lending to God and God will repay you back. Spending time and money for the spread of the gospel of Jesus is giving to God to accomplish the mission of God. Supporting the church for it to meet with its church responsibilities is also giving to God. God loves a cheerful giver, give without pride and with humility and God will prosper everything you do.
One kind of giving should not be done while ignoring the other. Some people give only to the church and forget about the fatherless, widows, orphans, sick, poor, homeless, strangers, hungry and those in the prison. Jesus made it very clear that giving to the fatherless, widows, orphans, sick, poor, homeless, strangers, hungry and those in the prison is giving to God (Jesus). Now our days many people forget about the fatherless, widows, orphans, sick, poor, homeless, strangers, hungry and those in the prison. This should be one of our main priorities as we spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the only way we can give to God and show our love for Him by caring for those who are in need and don’t have. Nothing can be given to God directly because He has everything, and what we have belongs to Him. So, the only way we can give back to God is by helping others as He said in His word. Giving in all the five ways is very important.
The book of Deuteronomy 15 :10 says we should give generously to the poor, needy, naked, fatherless, hungry, homeless, without a grudging heart, then because of this the lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.

This is an excellent article and the scriptures are right there at your fingertips, besides all these ways I guess that this is an incorporation of one of the ways now that I think more deeply about it a way of giving to strangers , anonymously, but I like to take my change quarters dimes and nickels and lay it in a conspicuous yet not obvious place and bless it and ask God to multiply it back to me. I asked him to give it to someone who needs it in other words, guiding them to it in their time of need, and that he would multiply it back to me in my time of need. I’ve been doing this for approximately 10 years and the blessings from it are innumerable!
